Since everyone seems to be doing it I thought I would post a photo of M83 which is a meld of a DSLR shot (6x5min) with that using a DSI II Pro (37x2 min) shots, the latter as the luminance frame . Photos were aligned and merged using Registar. I must say that this was a new technique to me but thought I would give it a go and am quite pleased with the result. I think that this may well be my new imaging routine.
Comments most welcome - unfortunately the jpeg doesnt do it justice..

Nice image Allan, but what has happened to the QHY8? Should handle a shot like this standing on it's ear without the worry of darks.

Doug.
Its still a virgin as far as photons go. Still have not had time to play with it. I wanted to get the DSI up and running first. It looks as if I will be combining QHY8 and DSI shots in the future if all goes to plan. Why is nothing easy or do I just make it hard?

The mono data from the DSI should give the QHY8 images a nice luminance!
I like this image of M83.. The DSI's inset frame size is a little noticeable in the upper right hand area of the shot.. however its not too distracting.. :)
I do think its about time you dipped your toes in the QHY8 imaging waters though Allan. 6mp noise free images will really open your eyes! :)

As we get older it all gets much harder. I am finding things I learn today I have forgotten tomorrow.
The old saying "I have forgotten more than you have learned " is very true, certainly in my position anyway.
