Hey all,:)

I think HG Wells said, " Never work with animals or kids.":D

For 17 years I have been in a job that involves me checking peoples’ roofs for possums or other animals.
I have a way with dogs. If a dog is in the yard I can bluff the dog into submission if it were threatening me. ;)

Today I made a mistake. :doh:The customer ( Nev ) was out the front on his mobile. Oscar the Bull Mastiff Ridgeback cross was secured on the front landing. I had met, patted and played with Oscar two days ago. I entered the back yard.

Nev’s wife went to investigate the barking. As she opened the front door, Oscar, 40Kgs of Schizophrenia charged through the house out the back door and sank those pearly whites into my wrist.:mad2:
I did not see it coming.
A doctor visit, antibiotics and a tetanus shot followed. I decided to call it a day.
Four hours after the event and the bruised tendons are not as painful and I think I stand a good chance to survive.:(

Cheers Marty :)

Those Bull Mastiffs can be as mad as a meat axe

a lady down the road owns one and she doesn't weigh much more than the dog.

She'd never be able to control it if it went ape pooh.

Get well soon

Very nasty ... not a fan of unknown scary dogs.

'Wont work with animals or children '..... could be wrong but was it W C Fields?

that sucks buddy... but bull mastiffs aren't mean dogs! they're always know as gentle giants! this sounds convenient, but i actually asked my vet about their temperament one hour ago at puppy school! maybe it was the ridgeback part?

Dog's are so unpredictable just like humans you may think their placid but don't turn your back they can and do get jealous

I've got a lovely dog we call her fart because she follows me around like a bad smell

Man bites dog?

Nearly 20 years ago now, I remember hearing an almighty and pained MEEEWWW!!!! coming from behind the kitchen counter, three of us adults shot into the kitchen to find little miss four year old sitting on the tiles with the family cat.

When we demanded to know what happened, she said, (and I'll never stop laughing at this), "She bit me so I bit it back!"

Hope you don't get an infection mate. Nasty bite.

Baz.

Hey Bloodhound31, :)

"She bit me so I bit it back!"

I gotta admit that as a 6 year old I did the same to our fox terrier. I was under the kitchen table. Teasing the dog. It bit me, so I retaliated and bit it on the ear. The dog squealed, growled and ran off.

Then I copped a beating from Mum.

Thanks for your concern. I'm on antibiotics and it seems to be healing to plan so far.

Cheers Marty

Hey All, :)

Bite wound is healing nicely. Thanks everyone.

I'm a little concerned at the froth at the mouth and I've started barking and growling at strange dogs going past the house.

Woof!
Oops!
