I took some stationary shots of the milky way with my 350D and standard zoom lens set at 28mm mounted on a tripod on the 22nd April before I went indoors. Today I stitched them in Photoshop to see what they looked like. It's 4x30sec frames for each side of the image @ ISO1600 hence the atrocious noise.
This is not by any means a good pic ... just for fun ... it looked magic to the naked eye as it was the coldest April night on record for some time and even with smoke in the air it looked pretty amazing. The black blob in the right hand corner is the edge of my roof and the glow behind it is from Perth 80kms or so away to the South West ... glad I don't live there any more :whistle:
