Here is a write up from Wikipedia.
Markarian's Chain is a stretch of galaxies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxies) that forms part of the Virgo Cluster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgo_Cluster). It's called a "chain" because, when viewed from Earth, the galaxies lie along a smoothly curved line. It was named after the Armenian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenians) astrophysicist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrophysicist), B. E. Markarian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._E._Markarian), who discovered it in the mid 1970s. Member galaxies include M84 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messier_84) (NGC 4374 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_4374)), M86 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messier_86) (NGC 4406 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_4406)), NGC 4477 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=NGC_4477&action=edit&redlink=1), NGC 4473 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=NGC_4473&action=edit&redlink=1), NGC 4461 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=NGC_4461&action=edit&redlink=1), NGC 4458 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=NGC_4458&action=edit&redlink=1), NGC 4438 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_4438) and NGC 4435 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_4435). It's located at RA 12h 27m and Dec +13° 10
The SV70 really delivers an exceptional FOV of the chain. Very nice work Les. Well done.
Excellent widefield Les, the chain looks fantastic.
Cheers
