I observed C/2008 Q3 Garradd this morning after an email i received from ASV Comet Section regarding this comet, i made it out at mag 9.0 this morning from Guyra, NSW.
The comet is expected to be around mag 14.0 but is much brighter due to an outburst a couple of days ago.
I could make it out in my 7x50 Bins, obviously from a dark sky location, and i also made obs with my 8" SCT, both obs put the comet around mag 9.
Q3 is currently in Indus.

Official obs yet to be posted.

Cheers!

Nice visual target now, fairly high in early morning skies! Here's an image from this morning around 4am, as the comet moves through Indus.

Full frame, with inset. Piggybacked Canon 400D, 3 x 180 sec, ISO 1600, F/4.5, 55mm. All fully hand-guided on non-motorised EQ1 mount.

Mozzie, this is an old thread. This comet is now mag 14+ and fading, and no longer visible from the southern hemisphere (at say 35 deg S).
