GSO 12" Dobsonian mount

Does anyone in the Melbourne area have a 12" Bintel (GSO) type Dobsonian cradle and baseplate for sale. My original has been so butchered with modifications (which seemed like good ideas at the time) that I now find it to be a wobbly platform with holes, added bits and strange shapes. It happened in small increments which went unnoticed until recently. I now need something solid on which to put my OTA. The entire journey has finally taught me that I am hopeless with hammer and saw.

G'day Ian, i have the same telescope as you and as a cabinet maker i threw out my old GSO base and made a new one out of marine ply. it's much much lighter and stronger. if you get stuck, you can contact me on 0438 784807 and for a small fee i'll knock one up for you. i live in ormond/south caulfield if that's close to you?
