Thanks for that Glen - looking like I'll be off to bed early on Friday night and hoping for a nice clear Saturday morning!

The Moon will be hard to see on Sat am. Its phase will be 2.3% and it will be about half way between Venus and the Sun. It is 6.4% lit now.
I just had a look at Jupiter and 4 moons, Venus and the Moon with my 10" scope in daylight.

I was out this morning at 5am and the star to the south of Venus totally threw me. In the end I figured it was Mars... lovely sight.

Quite a sight. Got my scope out for about 10 mins before putting it away and grabbing the camera. Will post some pics if any turn out.

Oh and went and bought a tripod this morning so i won't be caught out next time something an event like this happens.
