Southern X to Eta C widefield

Seems Eta Carina is the flavour this weekend. Crago was nice and clear on Saturday night.

Got a new Canon 1000d last week, and am starting my astrophotography journey.

1000d piggybacked on ETX125 @ 55mm f4 focal, ISO1600
Subs 15x60s,10x50s
Stacked with DSS
Tinkering with Canon SW

The ETX is not the best mounting platform, we just work with what we have got. I have to show some results to my "accountant" to petition for a funding increase in my 2009/10 budget submissions.

Respectable wide field Trev, I am surprised how well the ETX managed the tast at hand. More data would add a bit more depth to the image but remember darks or use ICNR.

you're right to try and work with what you've got and push your gear to the limit.
Incidentally, Ministers of Finance and Accountants ( :evil2: ) are sometimes swayed by a few images formally dedicated to them (with a hint of "imagine how much more I could do for you if I had an XYZ etc.)

Don't tell anyone though...its a secret.:lol:
