Rosette Nebula with QHY9

Last nights efforts. An RGB compilation consisting of R=30min, G=30min, B=30min taken in ten minute subs, calibrated and stacked in IP3.

Camera QHY9 with filterwheel
Telescope, Takahashi FS102 and reducer.

Looks a bit smooth for me and I have no idea why. I am going to reprocess this and will probably work out why.

dont know about smooth - maybe a tad light? very nice to view though, the dark lanes stand out.

Another good one Doug just a tad green on our monitors. Hope you don't mind I adjusted the green channel in curves which added majenta give it a try and adjust it to your liking.

Thanks Guys, It appears the monitor on my laptop imparts a green tint when used for image processing. Time for a recalibration I think. Here is an update with a bit more contrast and a bit less green.

Doug, can I be so bold as to say, it would look much better with a bit of sky around it, so to speak, ya know, wide field stuff, anyway, nice work.

Thanks Peter, Still got so much to learn. A bit of time without smoke around and I might be able to achieve some longer exposures and a bit of better data to work with.



Thanks Narayan, A little diferent from the OSC QHY8 but the detail and data seems better overall. Lots to learn but it all takes a bit longer.

Thanks Alex, a steep curve but great fun. I just wish the DSE would finish their controlled burns so I can image without smoke. Makes imaging hard when you have to wait for wind to allow for an image to be taken. Then contend with the wind.

Thanks Marc I am starting to get the hang of this camera. It is a bit more work than the OSC camera.



The camera is proving to be quite a capable unit but the work load is huge.
