There's bad weather on the way. It's coming up from Melbourne (where else) No time for a takeaway. Diet tonight - eat tomorrow.

Crystal clear tonight. Getting some beautiful wide field observations to the North including Leo. I hope it stays clear.

Going alright at Waterfall, so far. A bit windy which is keeping the guider busy but apart from that everything is going nicely. Getting some usable data of NGC2516, single 300 secs no calibration applied just color converted and a quick tease in PS attached. Testing setup prior to 9 night astro fest starting Friday night at Mudgee, hopefully the weather holds if not wineries here I come.
Have a good night all where ever you may be.

I just visted dobroyd point Gel, Sky was clear but seeing was pretty musky though not too bad, Saturn was nice and high and I got some decent views. Was a good night to play with the Argo. (nearly set up now:)).
I hope it gets better for you.

Yes finally some clear skies! I managed to find the Eight-Burst planetary which had eluded me the last time I looked, as the roof of the house eventually got in the way . Shame that the Manly playing fields had all their flood lights on and pointing in my direction last night. I must try to get up in the middle of the night some time. Really I need to go take the scope for a drive!

Last night was first light for my finder scope (I haven't assembled the base of my Dob yet).
Broken cloud but was just able to make out M42 as a smudge in the saucepan handle. With the finder scope being hand held, the stars were jumping around a bit.
It was very disorientating because the view through the finder scope is upside down and back to front.
thanks folks ,god it was great last night, imagine if every night was like that, need i say more.
