Dear all
I am unable to attend Lostock in April nor SPSP in May....:(
Would any of the "Key Keepers" be attending PC in those times?

I hope to attend PC during April but will be at SPSP during May.
What weekend(s) in April are appropriate?

There is no time given on the rescources/ moon phase page unless i'm looking at it all wrong, but looking at the day before & after i'd say just after midnight

The --:-- on the Moon time chart means 12 midnight if that helps.
So there will be some Moonage there in the form of the last quarter.
I dont think I'll be able to get a leave pass for Saturday night, unless I grovel with flowers and gifts.....again....
Geoffro.

I've seen the gravel rash on your knees Geoffro...or is it GROVEL rash?
Don't worry about a leave pass...go AWOL
Inmykombi
16-04-2009, 10:55 PM
Maybe if I stuffed a pillow under the doona with a sky and telescope mag over where my face should be, I may get 5-6 hrs to sneak away.;)
I admit it...its grovel rash....

Wind's up, cloud cover, chance of showers.:( Not the best prognosis, so I think I'll do some serious grovelling to build my level of brownie points for next weekend's trip to Lostock.:P No gravel rash, just a case of 'ricky dicky knee'.
That's my story anyway and I'm stickin' with it.
Cheers:)

I'm at Palm Beach and things are going down hill fast but got the scope outside cooling down just in case.
Plenty of beer in the fridge, could be a long night.
I love saturday nights and my telescopes.

I just drove up from Sydney
it has been glorious all the way up the FF3...
Until here!!
I see a big bank of clouds to the north,
Which way is it blowing??
I am still keen to give it a go.
But its getting late now and I have not yet begun to commence my grovelling.
If I get out quick, She (who must be obeyed) may not even notice I have been back !!
But I dont have a key (as yet !! (hint!)
Give me an excuse to start packing the new equipment into the car.
someone.
GTB - bring up some freezer suits for me to try on.
I may need it for Lostock!!!

I cant believe it....I walked outside and I cant see any clouds from here.
What have I done by staying Home ?
It'd take too much to unpack the van of tools and parts to fit the scope in now anyway.
Those who ventured up, I hope you have a great time.
Geoffro.

18-04-2009, 08:11 PM

Another great night, seeing surprising good, good company.
Left about 10:00 ish (saved least 1/2 a bottle foe next time) Trying to sneak up to Lostock
Aperture struck. Have acquired classic 1980's 13.1" Odyssey well modified dob. Re-coated the mirror, fiddling about with secondary...
Set up in dob alley.....no one else there to ask permission from!
Will kept FLT110 need something to use as finder! (joking)
Big big change from 4" to 13"
Rick Petrie
19-04-2009, 09:28 AM
Hey Phil
Isn't moving to a dob actually changing to the light side rather than the dark side?:P
May the force be with you. Obe Wan:)
The alliance will accept all previous SCT and refractor owners into Dob Alley.;)

Glad to hear you all had a good bit of sky to observe last night.
