Hi all,

this morning was very calm with low humidity, so I couldn't resist having another go at Jupiter.

Io's shadow is transiting.

More for the portfolio, Lester! Keep them coming!

Some good detail visible again.

Thanks Mike.

I still didn't get the primary cooled to ambient and am thinking I need to hook up the cooler to a timer that will turn it on at a preset time, so its cooled down by 5 a.m. just incase.

yeh that's what I do, just using a powerpoint timer.

Depending on how cold I think it's going to get, i'll leave my cooler running for 1-2 hours and have it switch off about 30 minutes before I plan to start imaging.

Hi Lester

Another very dynamic image with Io and Io’s shadow on the planetary disc giving a very dramatic 3D effect.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Lester, keep at it. We had 30mm of rain yesterday and last night, if you've got clear skies then make the most of it.

cheers, Bird

Nice job Lester,
The temp of your mirror sure does make a difference and no doubt would have made a difference to this image if you could have got it down to ambient before the capture.

Nice detail and I like the shadow of Io. This sure is a steep but immensly satisfying learning curve isnt it.

Very well done
Regards
Trevor

Thanks for your comments everyone, I appreciate it.

I have found a timer switch to go into the power point to turn on the mains power for my bilge pump to cool the primary. Just have to find a 12 volt dc supply that works off of the mains now. I had been running the pump off of a 12 volt battery that is hooked to a battery charger.

I have got jetstream till Friday now and strong winds tomorrow.

30mm of rain would be good too for my farm.

All the best.
