I saw that there was supposed to be dark nebulae the region of Lupus. I decided to image the region and see what I could get. This is not supposed to be a "pretty picture". No framing; just point and shoot (for 11 hours total). Here's what I got:

Lots of stuff everywhere I point my scope! It may take a while to load with the mouse-over.

Great site, great scope, great camera and great processing you got it all, no wonder you can just point and shoot anywhere and get stuff . To have the luxury of being able to do this really opens up the heavens like never before :)
Imaine what the planned new 8.1m sky mapper, that can image the whole sky above down to 24mag in just three nights, will be able to do :eyepop:
You seemed to have imparted quite a bit of colour into faint dust with rather modest colour data Tom, any secret to doing that?

Beautiful image Tom, Like Barb and Dave mention, have never seen this before. The dust has such a lovely color and saturation!
cheers

Some saturation before DDP and then during Photoshop process careful saturation so to not make the colors blotchy.

This is the most extraordinary image. The amount of detail is amazing and I could look at it for hours.
Thanks
