Has anyone done a side by side comparison of the TC-80N3 Canon timer remote vs the Aputure model. The Aputure is 1/3 the cost, is the functionality identical or does the genuine item have some functionality that the clone model lacks.

I believe they're identical.
I've got the Aputure one and it's great.

I haven't done a side-by-side comparison, but I'll second the Aputure one. Does everything you'll need for astrophotography.

I bought the Aputure one to do my timelapses. Set and forget, go to sleep. No complaints, great bit of kit.

FWIW I can recommend that eBay seller as well, I've made several purchases from Link Delight, their service is excellent.
They have the same item for a buy it now price of $69.99 with free postage.
Just ordered one on the Pay it now option with Link Delight.

You shouldn't have used it so much Alan. They are like cameras, they have a shutter life. Did you replace the camera at the same time. ;) :poke:
