A mate of mine emailed me this today. It's a 3MB file so I FTPd it at

http://www.multiweb.com.au/astro/RarelySeenShuttleActivities.pps

It's a PowerPoint presentation with slides depicting the process of assembling the space shuttle together prior to taxiing it to the launch pad.
I thought it was very interesting and did put everything into perspective as to the amount of work and planning required prior to each launch.

Hope you enjoy it too. :)

Great presentation, I enjoyed it

I'm one of the lucky members who's been there (as a tourist), didn't see a launch but I did see both shuttles on the launchpad at the same time, which is pretty rare.

G'Day,
That slide show was awesome :jawdrop: I never give a thought about all that happens behind the scenes. Just great,Thanks for sharing it, next time I see the shuttle take off I'll think about this slide show.
Cheers

Very cool - but they skipped the loading payload into the shuttle part..

G'Day,
I agree it's a pity they didn't go all the way and show the lot,now that would be good to see.
Cheers
