its the time of year where seeing starts to improve.. we get a 4 day weekend.. many people escape the city to dark skies..
but ..
by definition there is always a full moon!
such a tease!
(stellarium shows the moon will have set before 11pm this year so i'm not really complaining too much :))

Hate to rain on your parade Mark but the moon, according to Astronomy 2009, will rise and set as follows over the Easter weekend for Adelaide;
Thu rise 17:27 set 05:57
Fri rise 17:58 set 07:01
Sat rise 18:32 set 08:04
Sun rise 19:10 set 09:07
Mon rise 19:54 set 10:08
Not sure what date you looked at in Stellarium but definitely something isn't right with your date setup in Stellarium.

and that single handedly kills of any DSO observing. But in addition to moon, the holiday here is likely to be clouded out.

it's all good here :)
Since my backyard offers little that resembles a dark sky I've began to grow weary of the same same when taking up my usual position huddled beside the shed to avoid the ever blinding lights from next door.
That said I've promised myself that I will now commit some time and effort into discovering the moon.
I'm actually quite excited and have been looking forward to a full moon to see what I can find.
I also purchase a neximage cam from a fellow member and am yet to try it.
Long weekend, full moon, new toys and late morning sleep ins .... for me it's been a long time coming. :D

Had no rain (apart from one stormy night last week) for ages and now they are predicting rain all the long weekend. I also wanted to buy a new camera with the 900 rudskies coming my way but of course it has not hit my bank yet. My original plan was to have three nights of dark skies with my refractor and a canon 100d. Now I will be ??????????????? :rain:dancing in the rain, not.:(

Shall we start lobbying to move Easter to the new moon weekend rather than full moon?
