Hi all,
Has anyone had blooming problems with their STL-11000? Its not bad but I was under the impression that on an AB camera it was impossible :S
Any thoughts would be appreciated :)
They (Blooming) are normally rated, like 1000 times, 10,000 times etc. They can still sort of bloom to a point.
Do you have an image ?

Yes, its possible.
Follow these step to adjust the bloom gate bleed on the STL11k - http://www.sbig.com/sbwhtmls/abg.htm

Gaud, blooming with an ABG cam?, who wouldve thought :P. Might as well deal with the real-deal NABG hi QE thing yes .
Wide fields and NABG cameras, put simply are a pain to deal with. It is almost guaranteed there will be a bright star in the FOV that will bloom in a nasty way. Narrow fields at slow f/ratios...yep NABG for sure.

I never saw blooming with my STL11. As Jase mentions the bleed gate can be adjusted in the firmware though.
Greg.
