Hello,
I hesitated to post these but what the heck...
I do post the good, the bad and the ugly...
Only managed 4 shots at it last Saturday and it does require more subs (really obvious on the cro) and some longer exposures too to reveal the nebulosity and enhance the range.
Nevertheless, I was aiming to try and get a good look at the Pillars using the C14 at F/11
So here it is,
full frame and cropped (sized down obviously)
will process again in future with more subs for better effect.
cheers
frank
Looks pretty damned reasonable to me Frank!
Thanks for giving us a look.

Excellent work Frank, sightly "Dark", but has an agressive and yet smooth quality about it.

Forget the crop full frame very nice although a bit dark
IMO
Good Gawd! 3900mm of whopping madness tamed with precision. Yes, a little dark, but hey this is some fine work Frank. Keep it going.
The full image looks great!

Thanks again,
much appreciated indeed
I hope to redo it again with more and longer frames to do it justice.
Still working out some new gear at present (new guidescope, etc) and battling clouds!
thanks for all the nice comments

Nice work all the same, very smooth processing.
Frank I agree with the others, that is terrific work mate !!!
I know how you feel when you don't get enough subs and the image turns out dark, but mate well done on this one and I look forward to your next version.

Top work, Frank!
Al.
I like it, Frank....especially the wider shot.
A little dark, yes...but quite evocative...sort of moody and atmospheric, if you know what I mean?
Well done, mate.

Both are very impressive Frank.
The dark contrasty feel to the pics adds appeal.
Doug
Very nice Frank, I must say the crop is my favourite.

Hi Frank,
there are some out there that don't realise how damn hard it is to image at these extreme fL's....
So you've done a great job, and so far... things is looking good :eyepop:
Quite smooth considering the amount of time and stars are looking fine.
Soooo, yes please, more subs.... cause this has the makings of an 'extremely' brilliant image!
Look forward to the finished version.
All the best

Yep, a bit dark but you've got a fine image there Frank. Are you sure you've stretched it as far as it will go? Either that or you could just call it the brooding eagle :)
Cheers, Marcus

Goodness!
Many many thanks everyone !
I just got back from another w/e...clouds prevented getting more subs, so i spent the time constructively cleaning up the storage cabinet that was cluttered by bottles of cognac, rum, brandy, etc with some friends....
Funny i feel about the same as when I've spent the night up imaging....except i have nothing to show for it...
:]
Alex, I haven't even had time to try the OAG yet hope to give it a try long Easter w/e. I guided with the new SW102mm with FLof 1000mm which is a slight improvement on the ZS80 when i image at F/11 i think
frank
Thanks again everyone
