Hi All,

Imaged Jupiter this morning every ten minutes from 18:10 UTC to 19:40 UTC the seeing was generally good 7 / 10 with some periods of 8 / 10.

I am a bit disappointed with how my images turned out as many of the raw avi files looked very good. Had problems with Registax V5 beta expiring so some of my images were processed with V4 before I bit the bullet and downloaded the final version.

Probably should have gone back to bed for some sleep instead of getting straight into processing. My new processing regime takes much longer than it use to.

There is a noticeable difference between how V4 and V5 do things and the avi's that went through V5 produced better results. I should have put all 30 avi files back through V5 and I may do that latter.

I used 5 of my 10 RGB's to animate part of the GRS transit.

The RGB I have posted has some nice detail in it and I am sure we will see some stunning images this apparition on IIS.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Nice image Trevor.

you got 30 avis, that would take me months to process. Good luck with Registax 5; when it behaves itself I get good results, but it wants to keep going back to auto settings and then I always end up with a less sharp final image.

That's fantastic, Trevor. Among the best i've seen this season so far.

With a bit of post-processing work with levels and curves, it would pop even more.

When I get some time to sit down (gotta paint the ceiling tonight!) i'll show you what I mean.

Cheers

Your right Kev, I would only lay awake wondering how it would all turn out.

Thanks Peter glad you liked it.

Jupiter is starting to look pretty good Bird, how is the 16" project going.

Thanks Kepler, I do my best.

Thanks Mike, I would appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks Lester, of late I seem to be spending a lot more time processing than capturing the data.

Hi Trevor

A bit of levels adjustment and saturation boost. Not a huge change but a little :)

Lovely image!

Thanks for that Mike,

I have never played with the saturation levels before, thats what I really enjoy about my planetary imaging, there is just so much that can be done with the processing software. Thanks for pointing me to yet another adjustment that will improve my final result. I really do appreciate your advice.

Trevor
