Australia 2 Uzbekistan 0...in the World Cup Qualifier in Sydney.

Effectively, it means the Socceroos have pretty much wrapped up qualification for South Africa next year.

We've got three games left and only need 1 point to make certain, but we'll be there if Bahrain and Qatar draw later tonight.

Wooohooooooooo!!!!! Well done, boys.

Top stuff Matt, it's all getting exciting now.

I was a bit annoyed that no one was televising it on free to air down my way.

Cheers

Me too, Ric....especially that new 'dedicated' digital sports channel 'One'.

I mean...what a way to potentially make their mark in their first week of broadcasting. Very disappointing, and makes me wonder what the point of a channel like that is if not to do the stuff the other free-to-air guys are not doing:mad2:

I know it was on Foxtel, but......

Anyhoo...go 'Roos!!!

I always thought there was some sort of legislation from many years ago which went along the lines that if Australia was playing in an important sporting event, then it had to be available for viewing on free to air.

Great news, lets hope they learn from the last World Cup mistakes and do even better.

Great news.
Unfortunately no hope for me of seeing anything on the new OneHD channel because it simply isn't being made available in Tasmania and other regional areas; despite such places often having higher digital TV uptake than the larger population areas!:mad2:

Hey Jethro.

I wouldn't worry too much about not getting 'One'.

Can you believe they were showing bullriding (rodeo) when the game was kicking off...and then went to a St Kilda (AFL) game from last weekend...

I appreciate you'd still like the opportunity to be able to get it....but for a much-touted new channel it's all a bit of a letdown, to be honest.

Sounds like standard Australian sports coverage to me..

The results didn't go our way this morning. So just to add to the tension we still need a draw in the next three games.

I hope they don't leave it until the last game.
