Hi
So far my best effort at processing this target.
I've been trying to get as good as I could a shot of the Fickle finger structure.
I'm sure i could improve on the capture side of things (including even better collimation, guiding, worm performance etc...) and processing side of things (even this week i was experimenting with different processes and getting very different results), experts would be able to get more out of my data i'm sure.
Anyhow, i'm happy enough that I can make out the Fickle Finger.
include a crop and full frame.
C14 at F/11 on G11 guided with SW102 1000FL. Canon EOS20Da for images (7x3miniSO800) and QHY5 for guiding
thanks for looking

Great couple of images Frank. The second one looks more like an angry Cobra rather than a fickle finger.

I like it too Frank, nice detail and colour variations, plus the scale.

Many thanks everyone!
Its probably a bit too "technicolor" for some but i'm glad you like it
Personally, the more vibrant the colors the better even if not necessarily "true to life" ...but that's an entire other debate which has been done elsewhere...
many thanks again
I'm now started on the other shot i may have been able to secure from that same night...The Pillars of Creation
coming soon to a thread near here

Must have missed this one Frank - another dark, brooding and fiery image.
Looks like smoldering embers...wish I could superimpose your detail on my widefield!
Nice one

I find i miss a lot too with all the other pressures of life!
Its good to see the field of astrophotography exploding as it has though!

Thanks Baz,
I had a look at your website again, seems to have evolved into a very nice site, full of info. You should have your images a bit larger though, the small size don't do them justice! :]
cheers

Very nice Frank, You seem to be taking the big scope and DSLR almost to the limit. Looks like time for an upgrade.
Up close and personal gives a new perspective to my 1800mm scope.
Well done.

Thanks Doug,
will have to wait for little aussie dollar battler to climb up that hill a bit more me thinks...
no upgrades for the immediate future...unless someone wants to donate or sponsor....
hahahahaha
