I went outside to put some washing on the line Sunday and one of the shrubs were moving around like the wind was blowing a gale. On closer inspection I found this charmer and a few friends so I headed back inside and picked up my 50D and 18-200 IS lens. This is a crop taken at 200mm, straight out of the camera with a slight curve in PS to bring out the colors in the shadow.

Hope you like it.

Hi Wayne,

He is a Rainbow Lorikeet rather than a Rosella, but that doesn't stop
it from being a nice picture!

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Gary, I have editted the title now too. Talk about a "doh" moment it looks nothing like a Rosella .

Thanks again.

Nice shot Wayne

If these guys keep coming, I can see a lot of shutter actuations happening on the new 50D & lens

Wow, nice effort, looks HDRish, well curved.

Thanks all.

Fred - thank you for your compliment. As an L plater when it comes to PS it means alot to me.

Bryan - Imagine what I could have done with a 400 F5.6L ;)

Trevor - a great place to live. The coal trains rattle along but once you close the doors you can't hear them, only the sounds of birds ripping in to the shrubbery in the mornings.

Very peaceful and beatiful part of the country surrounded by national parks. I think I might become a tree hugger .

Wayne,

I see what Fred means by the HDR-like look to this image, it's because the greens from the trees have been desaturated.

Try adding some green back into the image, I think you'll find it'll pop and seem a bit more natural.

Otherwise, lovely stuff.
