Hi Shaun,
This is probably of no use to you, but ...
I have a Skywatcher EQ5 (the more expensive one with the better stainless steel legs) which has subsequently been updated (by the supplier) with the Skywatcher Synscan Goto system.
The mount came with my skywatcher 8 inch newtonian (which I since sold separately). It handled that with ease.
Then I had a C9.25 on it and loaded with heavy motorised microfocuser and 2 inch diagonal and eyepiece. No problems.
I couldn't think why a DOB would be any heavier.
I read somewhere that this mount's rated payload is 10Kg and I would say that is conservative.
But pickup is from NSW Central Coast - sorry.
But, If you are over here on the Central Coast (to visit Mike or whatever) you could pick it up.
I do have all the original packaging, manuals, cables, etc. but I am not interested in posting it as it is too big for Aust Post. And the courier cost would reduce the attractiveness of my offer price IMHO.
The mount is availablr from Bintel at the moment at $599 new
The synscan upgrade is available (cheapest I found was telescope dot com dot au) on special (reduced from $1100???) at $849 new
(mine cost $1500 in total)
My setup is 13 months old (mount) and about 11 months old the goto.
I would be looking to sell it for just about the cost of the goto. Say $850
I have discussed with one other person who may be interested.
Anyone can PM me if interested
Cheers
Allan

Well, as I said, I have the original boxes and all packaging.
If you are interested I will measure and weigh them.
I have no problem preparing them for pick up, so long as you can arrange for a courier to pick them up from Central Coast or Newcastle.
Your call

As discussed.
Package dimensions 105 x 49 x 27
Weight 27.2 kg.
Too big and too heavy for Aust Post.
But it is all packaged up sealed ready to go.
Pics as discussed
