Alan Meehan any myself decided to see how many lights would actually be turned off - there was a discernable difference but not much.

ah well focus was a tad off, a bit slack really.

wish the blighters would have turned the lot off:D:whistle:

The honking big orange street light out the back of my place didn't go off at all. I guess they are too scared of someone having an accident and sueing them if they turn off the street lights. What is that bright spot in image 1 and 2? Football?

Flicking between images it looks like almost as many lights were turn on as was turned off...a little disappointing.

Damn footballers should be playing in the dark, just hand out the night vision goggles.

Alan has his IIS shirt on...nice one :)

One way is to load em into Paint Shop Pro Animation shop Houghy.
There is a straight forward wizard in there.

Looking at the two images it is hard to imagine much energy will be saved.

I like the Shot of Alan staring at a blindingly bright camera screen though..probably powered by non bio degradable Lithium batteries that probably used more energy to manufacture than the energy saved in turning off the Town Hall floodlights

I believe more greenhouse gases are emitted by candles than the coal burned to power a light bulb anyway..?

You love that white obelisk though don't ya?

LOL its an icom Mike - Just like you a shining beacon in the universe:rofl::rofl:

LOL i asked alan to put on the camera so that it lit up his face - the red is from the headlight torch of mine to light him up;)

and no green house gasses were saved because for the short time it was going they wouldnt have been able to reduce the coal fired power stations generation turbines - they dont power off that quick:whistle:

very pretty images there David. The NAS should have held its viewing night at the Obelisk by the looks of it, there was a crowd up there?....

Was great viewing for such a bright place as Nobbys Beach even though there were still a lot of lights around at Earth Hour a few people showed up to take a look at Saturn even got a glilmpse of Orion so wasn't too bad. Maybe should have held the viewing in Gregson park as there was a gathering there I heard on the news later on.
My sister was at a restaurant having dinner when the lights were switched off and they dined by candlelight instead.:)
