Havent been able to do much stargazing or foto work cause of the flu and was determined to have a go Moon or no Moon. Two days after full Moon got these with the 300d zoomed out (standard lens) about 200 seconds at 1600 iso. I was surprised to get much given the Moon and all.

Nice work Alex,

I have found that the moon really only affects my image's if the target is in close range with the moon....obvioulsy the less light polution the better but it still means you can still get some nice shots even with the moon up....which does surprise me.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Here is an image I pulled from a couple of 20 seconds shots. Sorry if the colour is out I was trying to draw out detail. Cropped from original size above.

Sshussss, dont tell them it's easy with a good DSLR!And a good telescope and a clear mind and a clear sky and ...

All jokes aside,we now have the abilty to take 'good' shots that with film would have taken all night.I still have memories of hand guiding to get one good picture per night with film. One mistake in guiding.start again.

Yes indeed Bert, only problem I cant claim a clear mind this year (relationship upheaval) and its great the 300d world with a one gig card... its like the 10 monkeys typing randomly to produce a classic book... sooner or later because of instant review and no film to pay for.... you get the picture of how I get the picture.
