Hello all
Still in NZ.... have found a nice little web cafe in Queenstown, in out of the FREEZING COLD :cold::cold::cold:.... it got to 5degC today, currently about zero at the most.... snowing everywhere, hopefully will make for some decent skiing tomorrow...

Anyway, I grabbed a pair of Pentax PCF V 7*50 binos in Dunedin in a camera shop that were marked down to NZ$149 from NZ$379... thought it was a great deal at the time, the view through them is very nice... nicer than my Andrews 10*50's.... I did see a web ad for them for A$119 now - did I not make a great deal.... :( was very proud of myself for a bit!

I've decided it would be difficult to enjoy hobbies of astronomy and skiing concurrently... since with skiing you want snow... and with snow comes very thick clouds.... noooooo!!!

Clear skies to everyone - I think all the worlds clouds are here at the moment anyway!

Good choice, I've got 7x50's, nice wide field and not too hard to hand hold. :D

We have been driving around the Sth Is the past wk, everyone we see tells us how bad the snow is.... well it has snowed solidly the last 24hr and it looks like we have been reprieved! should be good for tomorrow now....
It is getting towards the end of season now though....

I've got the same pentax binos as well, very easy to hold I use them for satellite spoting and wide field views of star clusters.
