Hi here is progress of my toucam's prime focus videos, selecting every 100th shot or so, and stiching together at normal sizing, i am dnot reducing or enlarging at all.
Time consuming, but worth the effort every moment i get to update the final image with some more pics

thanks, there are roughly 17 odd overlapping images at 210x across the widest part. I am not sure how exactly autostich works, but hopefully there may be error correction as images overlap to build the final one.

Awesome picture from an awesome effort. Are you using Registax on your toucam images before Autostitch?

no registax, just toucam -> 7 x movies, bint and smacker to convert the 7 movies to 12,000 images.
next time i would only do it at 5 frames a sec as i am deleting a 100 images at a time.

Que? Bint and smacker. Are they some sort of conversion from video to still images?Surely you would get a better result by stacking and enhancing first with Registax and then Autostitch.Bert

bint and smacker isa conversion program from movie to movie, movie to image etc
i have tried registax with the moon, because the whole screen is taken up with the moon, stacking may enhance the middle areas, but you will loose on the edges.
i wasn't happy with the result, so i thought i would just go straight to autostitch.

This may sound ridiculous but have you considered taking images on successive nights and then make a mosaic out of only the images that show good detail due to shadow.Just a thought.
It has been done with conventional photos in the past.

Nice work David, I also find that sometimes I get better results out of using a single frame from an avi, instead of stacking - especially when the seeing is no good and especially without tracking.
But what I do is run the avi through registax first and do the initial alignment, and then move the slider all the way to the left and the first frame is the one it picks as the sharpest.
I then use virtual dub to save that frame as a single jpeg to use for mosaic creation.
hail to the moon miester!!!! :D
great one dave!

Not quite lining up so I will have to grab some more images to fill the gaps. Autostitch is having a small headache.
Probably best to redo from scratch, now that i know what i am doing.

Great work!!!
I did another round with my 10" and Rebel on Saturday evening - I'll post it up in a bit.
I found that Autostitch starting giving me grief when I used too big of images: it kept running out of memory. Dunno if that is what is happing to you, but I had to take my 9 - 6MP images and shrink them down by about half before AutoStitch wouldn't crash on me.
<shrug> no big deal, the final full sized image was still around 5000x5000 pixels
Keep up the great shots!

thanks rapideye,
i tried again last night to give it a rip, but i was 3/4 thru and clouds set in. I will try a composite of the three nights to get an image.
It also looks like there is around a 200 image limit on this demo version.
