Any other shift workers with a rotating and ever changing roster having probs catching some clear nights in south east Queensland.....AAAAAArrrrrgghhhhhhh ...............................
No wonder I am looking at spending Kev’s upcoming money on a sports watch instead of my beloved astronomy gear...time to change hobbies if this keeps up:(

Shhh that's blasphemy in these woods ;)
It certainly adds to the value of good night observing hey. All the gods converging at once; weather, mood, moon, late morning start..... an entertained partner.

I'm not a pc right now with skycharts of any kind but you can download a recommended program, Stellarium, here http://www.stellarium.org/
follow these instructions to update lulin to it's database and you'll be geared ready to go:

Here in Melbourne, the latest craze is sunshine during the day, with high cloud moving in right on sunset....

It's alright I was an avid tree lover 'til discovering this game
ah the smell of chain saws in the morn'
Astro78 so was I!! My husband works overseas so I have plenty of opportunities to prune. At first my husband commented on how neat and tidy the place was looking, then one night as I was standing outside admiring the sky it suddenly dawned on him, "I know why you chopped all those trees down you get such a good view now!" Can't attack the trees blocking my N/NE view they belong to the neighbours!
Oh and Dave yes the weather here in the SE has been just as frustrating!
ps only introduced species were removed!
