I wanted to see what the QHY8 can do with narrow band filters namely Ha, Oiii, and Sii, so I ended up with Baadar Ha7nm, Sii8nm, and Oiii8.5nm, also wanted to learn more about tri-color. Over the last 3-4 nights looked good to try them, so I lined up on ETA and would like to share the results.
The setup:
OTA: WO FLT110 f7
Mount: HEQ5 Pro
Cam: QHY8 (Neb2)
Guide Cam: QHY5 (PHD)
Cam Temp: ~22C
Process: IP 3.75
All capture:
Ha = 1h 20m
Sii = 7h 40m
Oiii = 1h 20m
The following is my attempt using various combination, had to crop because the framing didn't line up:
1) Using L=Ha R=Ha G=Oiii B=Oiii

2) Using L=Ha R=Sii G=Ha B=Oiii

3) Using L=Ha R=Ha G=Oiii B=Sii

4) Using L=Ha R=Oiii G=Ha B=Sii

I hope the above will be helpful to others who are thinking tri-color.
Please fill free to advise as I'm always looking to improve.
Cheers
Eddie
