Hi all. Don't trip over yourselves laughing but I use an EQ3-2 mount as a mobile mount for star parties, camping and so forth. Bought it from Andrews with dual drives etc a few months ago and it's barely done more than a few hours under the stars. BUT already it's starting to break down - and hence my request for some assistance: the Dec drive locking mechanism seems to have come loose inside the mount head. The locking lever is floppy and doesn't seem to be connected to anything inside. It isn't that it's mounting screw has come loose. I've checked the obvious. But the horrible reality seems to be that I will have to get out the big socket set and start pulling it to bits to find the problem. Anyone else had a similar experience or able to sughgest possible causes/solutions?

Peter

Send it back and get them to fix it. Trouble with diy is that you will void warranty and if something is broken you may not be covered.
