Hi All,
Was experimenting last night with a 3 x Barlow, had the best seeing for this apparition of Saturn, very steady 8/10.
Last night I was able to visually observe Saturn with a 4mm Orthoscopic eyepiece and the image was rock solid.
I have attached 4 RGB images that were taken at 20 minute intervals, the image scale with the 16" at 3 x is very nice, however the resolution is limited due to the lack of an active cooling system for my primary mirror, I currently only use fans.
When my active cooling system is finished I expect to be able to go for even more image scale and also get higher resolution.
In these images there is quite a large cloud or storm structure in the STrZ at approx long 346 degrees W. There are also two cloud features very close together in the EZn at approx Long 27 degrees W. In the RGB's the two features become one.
Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor
