Took some video footage of the moon last night and posted a small grab in the link below.

Equipment:
8" Newtonian reflector, Dobsonian mount.
1/3" Sony HAD CCD Video Cam mounted prime focus, lunar filter.
Captured with VirtualDub and then sized down with MS MovieMaker

Location: Sydney, Inner West

Still getting to grips with the video settings, but it's fun
Should also add this was my first crack of imaging, rough and ready but gotta start somewhere !

Hi Adam,

Yep, everyone has got to start somewhere and the Moon sure is a big bright target. Congratulations on your first successful attempt. I recall that my first attempts at astrophotography produces lots of squiggly coloured lines.

Well done

Good start Adam. Nice camera control and exposure. Not many people present video as such, most stack it and process it into stills. Nice to see video for a change.

That was cool!

It is a shame that so much definition is lost when the sun is face-on. I notice that a half-moon shows the crater edges, in such geat detail.

Still, Adam, this is beauty.

Very nice, well done!

I like the "fly over" feel.. It's given me some ideas :)

Well done.
