Hello,
Jeanette (JJJ) had had an excellent and inspirational article published in the USA magazine, Astronomy Technology Today (http://www.astronomytechnologytoday.com/), “the world's leading astronomy equipment journal offering equipment reviews, new product and industry news announcements, how-to projects, observing tips, and much more”.
I downloaded the article from the Ioptron website (http://www.ioptron.com/).
Since our paths first crossed, I’ve been very, very impressed with JJJ’s enthusiasm and dedication to amateur astronomy. Being a busy mum, I suspect that family commitments severely limits JJJ’s time out under the stars, but she certainly inspires all of us, here on Ice In Space, with her constant stream of fabulous results, captured with quite modest equipment compared to the multi-$1000 rigs that others have.
“Aussie” Jeanette very eloquently writes about her astro photography journey which I’m certain will provide inspiration to all those that read it – top stuff!
Enjoy your success Jeanette, it is richly deserved and I cannot think of a nicer person to achieve this.
Cheers
Dennis
PS – apologies to Jeanette if I have caused her any embarrassment by “outing” her skills!

Thanks for this Dennis and well done Jeanette on an extremely well written article. You must feel very proud of your progression, your images reveal the work that you have put in and results achieved.
It is really tremendous to see Aussie amateurs receiving recognition on the international stage. I am sure your article will inspire others to try their hand at astro imaging and maybe it will encourage more members of the fairer sex to become involved in astronomy.
Very well done and congratulations on your article.
Regards
Trevor

Yes, it is truly well deserved and I agree with you Dennis "cannot think of a nicer person to achieve this".
You have pathed the way JJJ, and no doubt will encourage more women to get into area of astrophotograpy. For me, you are indeed an inspiration.
So well deserved. All the best.

One for the girls hey.
It does feel good to be "published". Hard to believe actually.
Who would have thought they'd be interested in what I do?
It isn't a patch on what others have achieved here.
But I wouldn't have been able to get this far without the very supportive friends I've found here on IIS. How lucky am I to have all of you with me on this journey.
Thanks guys I appreciate it.:D
:lol::lol: Yep dam straight ;)

So Jeanette, what will you do with the little cube now you have the TOWER of Terror? :P
Interesting and easy to read article, nice job
Very refreshing to read an article like this by a girl astroimager, very cool to be reminded that your species do exist out there, even if you are fairly rare birds.
How did you come to write the article btw?
Fully electronic colour coded goto observing heck even the eye is electronic....hmmm? Yep, the old dob guys will hate'ya

I actually subscribe to ATT, but haven't downloaded it for ages - a great read, and it has just bumped up its quality a notch!

Thanks Mike.
To cut a long story short.
I'd been posting my images in the iOptron Gallery since the beginning of last year.
Then in August last year I recieved an email from John Hou, their VP of Marketing, asking if I'd write a short article on Astrophotography, using the Cube.
I put it off for a bit, not knowing what the hell to write.
Then Stuart Parkinson and Coleman Coates from Astro Tech Today send me emails to say that they'd publish the article if I wrote it. They gave me a subscription to the magazine so I could see the general format of their articles. To give me something to go by.
And that's it.
It's a great magazine by the way. Much more techy than the other astro mags on the market.

Well done JJJ. I've sent the link on to a few friends to show them, you can have great fun with modest equipment and produce great results to boot. The best images are the ones you enjoyed making and sharing.

I did subscribe. They promised to email notify me of each new edition. I didn't see an email, but went in today to look and there is a May/June edition. Happily reading it on and off in breaks. Good read so far. (Have asked their subscription person about the missing(?) email notification.)

Response to my query:-
"My best guess is that somehow the messages didn't make it
out. I apologize for the confusion. The new issue should be uploaded
around the first week of July if not a little before. The notification
should be going out at that time but please let me know if it doesn't make
it to you again."
