Finding Omega Centauri such an amazing object to view and photograph, I thought I'd have a bash at teasing out more detail with a GSO 2x ED barlow added to my budget optical train.

Was muck trickier focusing at 1200mm FL with the barlow rather than the usual 600mm for the ED80, but I was happy to see some more detail in the core.

Captured with 450D / ED80 on Jan 24th.
5 x 4min stack @ ISO800 with single dark.

Comments or tips welcome.

Cheers,
Jeff

Not much to say here Jeff but nice job, good star colurs and the resolution for a 3.25" scope is excellent

One day I will finally get around to barlowing my scope too....

Thanks Mike. I was pleasantly surprised that using a 2" barlow seemed to flatten the edges of the field quite a bit ... while I'm waiting for a W.O. P-FLAT2 flattener to arrive. :)

I really must try a 2x barlow with the ED80. There are heaps of objects that are tiny when imaging at only 480mm FL.

By the way I give the WO P-Flat2 the  with the ED80.
