All,

Circus Maximus and the House of Augustus on Palatine Hill, in Rome.

Slightly higher resolution available here (http://users.tpg.com.au/octane2/casaaugusto.html).

Unfortunately, the widest angle lens I had with me at the time was the stock kit lens, which is crap. I'll just have to go back and reimage.

Rome has to be one of the most amazing places in the world.

Comments and critique, welcome, as always.

Regards,
Humayun

Hi Humayun,

Another amazing subject and in the far right foreground you seem to have captured some ghosts, not sure what era they are from. They seem to be almost transparent.

Would be great to image this scene without vehicles and people in the foreground but I suppose there would always be someone around these ruins.

Regards
Trevor

Ron and Trevor,

Thanks, guys.

Ron, I've loaned my 350D to a colleague's girlfriend, so, she's making use of it at the moment. :)

The ghosts are circa May, 2008.

I can only imagine what it'd be like to photograph Rome whilst it was desolate. A friend knows someone who paid garbage removers and cleaners a few hundred Euro to leave Trevi Fountain at the break of dawn so he could propose to his girlfriend. Now, that, that would have been pretty sweet!

Regards,
Humayun
