Some good seeing again for a while last night, just after 1am. This is an animation of two red channel images taken a few minutes apart. A lot of cloud detail is visible, as well as two moons.

A question if I may..

I have noticed that just about all Saturn images I have seen this year show the planets globe with a lot of greenish hues, where formerly it was all browns and beiges. Why is that?

Not sure, maybe colour balance and response of these cams is a bit off with something as dim as saturn?

The image is almost certainly over-saturated in colours as well.

This may be closer to the correct colours...

Hi Anthony

Another top notch set of images – well done. The image scale is quite remarkable as is your imaging system’s capability to resolve the moons and storms. Not forgetting the obvious talent and dedication of the operator too!

Cheers

Another mono image from about 15 minute earlier, this shows a good look at the prominent storm near the CM. From this perspective it looks like two separate but very close storms.

Hi Bird,
Stunning work again, so much detail and cloud structure in your animation that is also, extremely well resolved in the RGB.

Last one... This is the colour image to go with the R channel image above. The storm still looks like it's in two pieces to me.

Another great image Bird,

Your R channel image definitely looks like this feature is two distinct storms.

The fact that even in the RGB, the two features have not smeared into one, to me is clear evidence of two separate structures.

Excellent!

May I ask what equipment combination you used to get such great shots?

Cheers,
Chris
