Skies are clear tonight, first time in a while. :jump:

I could photograph Comet Lulin but i'm too lazy to drift align the DSO imaging setup, so I'm gonna capture Saturn from 10:30pm onwards, then get some sleep, and get up early in the morning to try and capture my first Jupiter for the season.

It'll only be 15-20deg but there could be something interesting to see. I'm working from home tomorrow so I can image until sunrise instead of having to rush off to catch the train.

Anyone else heading out there tonight?

Ah was thinking about setting up, but the clouds have just rolled in. It may clear a bit later on, I'll have to wait and see.

All the best with your imaging tonight Mike, post up the images when you are done processing.

I was just thinking the other day that it's getting close to the opening of Jupiter season.

We've got showers and thunderstorms moving through tonight though:sadeyes:

I don't reckon I'll get really motivated until the end of the month....and then it's game on for a few months!

Fabulous night, almost no dew and stars everywhere!
Bit chilly about 5 degrees
Damm freezer suit shrank over summer

The seeing was absolutely terrible here overnight.. no Saturn, no Jupiter.

Jupiter just looked like a big white ball of jellow. Nice belts visible at all.

A very unproductive night :( I should've done DSO imaging :)

It will not be long now Mike and the Jupiter floodgates will be open again.

I was going to have a go this morning, but cloud put a stop to it.

:rofl: hey mike it was raining mud here yesterday afternoon, the amount of dust and crud inthe atmosphere was unbelievable. it was orange most of the day, and after a line of "rain" went through it really didnt clear as such, just the cloud moved on. I was going to set up as well - just wasnt worth it as the stars were not really there - even though it was clear?

Well the rain has come & gone here. Today the temp is much cooler & the sky pristine. Hopefully we'll all have a better night tonight.

Was lucky to get a few good hours in last night, skies were cloud free my way and split the time up with visual observing of Saturn then continued tinkering with the new cctv camera. I could have stayed out till the wee hours of the morning but shame work has to get in the way ;)
