Here's another galaxy image from Saturday night. This galaxy is a bit smaller and not as bright (Mag 9.0) as NGC5236 (mag 7.6).

This is also 50x1min subs using the DSI II pro and 10" newt.

So it is - I have my Astroplanner plan based on NGC numbers. Thanks for the comments. 1 min seemed like a long exposure when I was doing 10 secs pre-guiding!!!

Another lovely shot with great detail. What you are managing to get out of the DSI is incredible. You only have two options from now on. Either 5 min guided subs or get a cooled CCD camera.
Great shot again. We will have to set up side by side and have a shoot out.

Nice shot - from my monitor almost looks 3d! I think the DSI's work best on smaller (FOV) images like this. There is much less blooming visible.

Cheers Paul. I like the wider shots with the ED80/DSI also although it loves the big 10" aperature.

Allan - I was thinking one option from here - cooling and longer shots! Looking forward to comparing notes vs the SCT/3.3 reducer images.
