The Synta ED120 series appears to be gaining an excellent reputation. On the C.N forum they are given primarily very postive reviews esp. for there cost effectiveness.
There was one recent exception with one ED120 having pinched optics.

The above tester in Germany also tested the flagship Equinox ED120 [which has the 'Schott' mating glass as does the S.W. Black Diamond and the Orion EON - the earlier S.W. Pro and Orion ED120 does not have this glass] as superior to the W.O. 132 triplet when it comes to color correction. [Althought this particular W.O. 132 tested may have not been a good example - link below].
The introduction of the Schott mating glass also helps CA reduction again.

Also the S.W. Equinox ED120 was the recent group test winner in the BBC 'Sky at Night' magazine. It compared the Meade 127 triplet, the Viven ED115S and the Maxvision ED127.

My particular Equinox ED120 has given me excellent performance. I traded up from my Orion ED100 about 6 months ago. The light grasp increase in noticable over the ED100 and there is no increase in CA which is minimal anyway. Images are sharp, contrasy and primarily flat.

This 'almost' 5 in. APO is a keeper.

I was thinking that one day I would 'upgrade' to a WO 132 but there is nothing to really gain for the major additional cost.
