I am pretty annoyed at this company in SA about a Williams Optics red dot finder I bought over the phone in January. The whole thing has been going almost two months.

The first one did not work at all, I sent it back, the second one did not work either (complete blob instead of a reticle) so I sent that back and asked for a refund.

He (pretty sarcastically) told me that it is fine and red dot finders work like that. I assured him that I have used one before and asked for a refund a little more forcefully and that I'd complain to the SA equivalent of the Office of Fair Trading if I did not get one.

Have a look at the response:

Well I've used 3 billion RDFs on 3 Billion scopes, so I know it works! I could just send it back to Williams for a warranty repair (free) but there is nothing wrong with it.

Just take a different, new one, and then there less effort for everyone.

In the meantime, I'll wait for the Fair Trading thugs to get me! Burley lads they are.

What the hell kind of response is this?!? :mad2: Glad I did not buy anything substantial from this grub.

The only reason I went to him was that I was having trouble getting through to Andrews which have always been good, but difficult to get through to.

PM me if you want the shop's name so you can steer clear of it.

You don't have to name them, just put a link in your post that points to their advertisment for that product, so we can see what you bought.

Cheers,
Jason.

Really,
is that all I have to do. I've had all my complaint posts removed...all be it full of agrivation...So all I have to do, Is tell everyone how I was bullied by a "mystical company" then simply put a link to the item?

I wish!!! The one thing I dislike about many of these forums, is that we seem to be only able to say NICE things about the retailers, & nothing "damaging"

I find the cheapest retailer in Au for scopes can be pretty aragont, when it comes to repairs...be warned...theye not always friendly Taxman. Perhaps you will have better luck than eye. I'll only buy at that place as a last resort! I'm glad I spotted your post before it gets wiped.

Good to see people with the balls to complain...we need our own website, like an Astronomy suppliers Black List that we can link...however I don't think they would allow those posts either.

Too many sucks that have had a good run, or money to burn that defend these people...or simply scared they'll be banned from the forum, therefor feel as if they have to score browning points by telling you that your complaint is formatted wrong...albeit that one should wait before constructing a complaint...I'm the worst one for that, so shall forgive ya:)

Anyways...I'll PM ya, as this post wont last. Live & learn I guess...I'm shopping at Bintel at the moment...then will move on to the next, the next and so forth...I'll probably do a full circle as "stuff just happens" But when it does...I move my business elsewhere and complain to everyone about that service despite making "desperate risky purchases"

We are all just human and get cranky at times...we have to allow for that, but if you what you say is true...I'd just move on as hard as it can be. I have a faulty red dot finder that does not adjust properly...I was very updet, however already dealt with idiots in the business, I have made do with it....another time I simply sent back a $100.00 EP and told them to keep it!...I've been learning to accept that the sale industry is full of unreasonable people just as you might find anywhere.

Thanks for venting anyways...looks as if both you and I just have to learn how to do it is all...Lets start the retailers "Black List" :)

Noone gets in trouble for saying NICE things.

Some retailers tend to get very upset by people saying nasty things about them. Some even threaten legal action. There's always two sides to every story and what gets said on a public forum can be taken the wrong way, interpreted the wrong way, and vendors don't usually reply in public so they have no right of reply to what gets said.

When it's YOUR house and family on the line in the event of threats of legal action, then YOU can make your stand against the big bad nasty retailers.

In the meantime, this is my site, and my family and house on the line, so it's my rules.

Honestly, if you don't like it, then start your "black list" site and talk about it all you like there.
