I'm new in the forum, but I have a lot of astroimaging friends on the list. Many excellent southern imagers are here and so I thought I'd join.
Here is a recent image from Vela. I've posted it elsewhere but it seems fitting that it be here in a southern sky imaging forum!
I placed a mouse-over image showing the cataloged objects. Give it
time, the upload is a bit long, sorry.

Thank for letting me join.

Hi Tom
Nice to see you on here
I have already commented on this image elsewhere but after careful examination and consideration I think it may even fall in the category as a contender for the best single frame amateur image ever done?
I know you are a dust man but this region has everything and is exactly why it was the subject of my last image too. When I compare our efforts with similar equipment, it is obvious that exposure and really dark skies rule
Now don't be one of those high end imagers who just post ball crushing images but never reply to the efforts of others, OK????? Your comments will be most appreciated for sure.
Incidentally everyone, Tom was one of the lucky ones who actually recieved a good ASA astrograph

Hey Mike! Thanks for the comments. I'm glad to be a part of the forum. I'll try to help with comments on other's images -- but you know some images (like yours) are so good I can't find with words to express my delight!!! Your Centaurus A is breathtaking!!
BTW, I absolutely love the pics of you lifting that HUGE stone ball! I just had back surgery today so I think I'll leave the heavy lifting up to you -- my strongest astro-friend!
Cheers,
Tom

I love these AP TCC shots. You spurred me on to get an adapter for mine with my AP140. Unfortunately it seems the adapter threaded too far into my filter wheel and jammed the carousel and may have damaged the motor.
But it will be up and running shortly.
Greg.
:eyepop::eyepop: nice work Tom :thumbsup: beautiful pic :)

Tom,
Firstly, welcome! I think I remember your name from the BAUT forum. I posted a couple of pictures there a few years ago, and remember seeing your stunning galaxy images.
And, my goodness, the linked image is spectacular!
