Finally got the litttle bugger thanks to all the helpful folk here.
My undying gratitude, everyone.
Posting the photobucket link because they are big files. Unfortunately I only have Photoshop elements at the moment, I will be able to do better work when I can open the RAW files and make adjustments. (PSE won't open 30D RAW files!) Details on the photos, taken from sorth east of Murwillumbah)

I'm not sure if the zoom of the lens hasn't moved a bit in this second one, I plan to get a dedicated 300 or 400 lens soon, will be better for this type of work.
