Here is the dog fence on the NSW/SA border.
Its the longest fence in the world.
This part of the fence is 140 klm,s north west of Broken Hill.
You get fined for driving along it and for not closing the gates.
Lets keep the dingoes out of NSW.
Cheers Kev.

Thanks Kev:thumbsup:
When I came to Australia 38 years ago:D my first job was going to repair and maintain the fence :eyepop: but I chickened out at the last moment when I was told the temp was 42deg C and as I had just come from an English winter did not think it was a good idea:P

Top shots Kev,
I bet about 99.9% of the population has never seen this fence.

Hi,

For those of you who like Arthur Upfield's Boney stories, try "The Lake Frome Monster" with a dog fence theme.

I always thought it was to keep the South Australians away from our pubs? ;)

Nice pics Kev, I think the fence is also dug down about 4-6 feet underground as well to stop the dogs digging under it?

I hope you remembered to close the freakin gates!

Cheers

Chris

A couple of pictures from mid-2006 of the dog fence about an hour from Coober Pedy near an interesting formation called the Breakaways. At this location the fence separates one whole lot of nothing from another whole lot of nothing. The magnitude of the project to build the fence though...
