ngc2070 ... ngc5139 ... ngc104 ... widefield

Hi All

I got out in my reassembled obs last night for a couple of hours before the wind started to blow and took some shots to try out imaging with my FLT110 plus MPCC and UV/IR filter. The only way I can use the UV/IR is to use my MPCC as I can't fit it to the TMB 4" field flattener I bought with the scope. I had to attach my WO 4" extension tube to achieve focus. Anyway here are the results.
Oh I've also thrown in a B&W widefield shot of the sky at my place with labels ( coz it's a crappy shot ) only 4x30sec shots with my 350D mounted on a tripod in howling breeze as I packed up to go inside. Actually I just took another look at it and I'm not sure I've got the labelling right ?

Hi Steve,

Really impressed with your image of Omega Cent, looks great with stars resolved to the core. I think you have done a top job with this image.

Cheers Trevor .... Omega Centauri came out a lot better than 47 Tucanae as I shot that glob first. Probably the scope had settled down a lot by the time I shot 5139. In between I imaged the Tarantula for about an hour before turning to Omega as a final target for the night. Then the wind started to get a bit too gusty for my liking and it was time to close the roof of my obs.

it might just be my monitor but just a hint more contrast or a slight shift in black point might make the glob stand out even more

Thanks Doug ! I wish the wind here would calm down so I could do a whole night of imaging like I used to. It seems to start getting blustery around 11pm each night lately.
