I have a really nice looking timber and brass teodolite tripod , very heavy so you could pick up from the observatory ( Lake Bathurst ) or I may be able to deliver to Sydney or ACT

In particular I need a closeup shot of the head with a ruler or scale, as I need to work out if what i have in mind will fit. Also could you show what the central mounting bolt looks like - is it the standard 5/8" - 11 tpi screwthread and does it permit lateral adjustment, or not ?

You probably need a tribrac for lateral adjustment.

I still have the tripod there is no bolt just a hole in the brass top thats about 20mm across , I've used it for all sorts of heads photographic and small astro mounts.
