What a lovely image Ric,
Would have thought all of the animals would have perished. Seeing this puts a tear in my eye and raises my spirits.

The impact of bushfires on people is immense and tragic, but I also spare a thought for the pain the many wildlife must go through in the hundreds to thousands of hecters of bushland that are on fire, especially as quite a few of the fires are probably arson:mad2:

Very moving.
Thanks for posting.
I agree Jeanette it is a very moving image of compassion for all creatures great and small.
A few dollars in the way of a donation to the RSPCA or the Wildlife Rescue fund would not go astray.

Excellent photo.
These shots of a Koala in a bath were taken before the fires, during the scorching hot days in Victoria.
Amazing, just amazing.
I also saw one in the Sunday Telegraph last weekend of a Koala that was drinking from a watering can, following the lady around.

It is wonderful to see something positive from so much tragedy, not just on a human level. Our little Aussie animal mates are suffering just as much as we are.
As Graham has mentioned Sam who is really a Samantha is expected to make a full recovery. the link is to the update of Sam's story and a wonderful small video of when the CFA lads found her.

That picture was on the front page of the Cape Times this morning.
I actually welled up with emotion and was happy to see the offers of assistance from South Africa and other parts of the world.
My sincere condolences to those who have lost loved ones during this terrible tragedy.
