NGC 6302 Bug

this is a very so-so shot, 3 frames only, the last 3 of a weekend wasted trying to iron out bugs in tracking , so a fitting target really....
the next shot i didnt use because the sky glow was beginning to occur because of sunrise,
Anyway, here it is
C14 F/11 EOS 20Da (very hot producing stacks of noise!) 3 shots of 5 min at ISO 800
flats used and I even threw in some old darks (a mix of anything and everything i had, 10 min, 15 min and 320 min!)

here it is just for fun
very slight crop for centering and cutting out the amp glow at bottom right corner

Once again that setup has done you proud... Despite the heat, and your apparent noise issues, the resulting picture is very nice, guiding and focus look great.. You should be very pleased Frank...

I don't Know if you have imaged NGC 5189? I would like to see a top image by a good amateur Photographer:thumbsup:

Very nice Bug I took one 5 minute sub in the summer time and thought I had found something New, but then I found outt it was the bug and the Les Nebula would have to wait :D

A nice capture of the Bug Frank, the central area has good detail. I've often found it to be a tricky nebula as the central area can often blow out in brightness and overpower the image.

The spiral planetary is very nice as well, I sure what we are seeing is a side on view of a planetary nebula.

I was going to add a few frames from this weekend to the bug but fell asleep at the observatory (The Bug seems to have gotten me a bug...) I'm sick as a dog now...only managed one or two additional frames Ill see

the extra frames have definitely helped with the noise issues, and the neb seems to be more well defined too.. Less aggressive processing may have played a part in the noise reduction too... Overall a very very nice job!
