Hi Ron,
I believe it was yesterday Feb 3rd.
Yesterday our local ABC paid tribute to Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Boppa for most of the morning celebrating the anniversary of his death.

Love the music of Buddy Holly, what a tragedy it was for him to die so young, a true legend of popular music. About 10 years ago I went to a performance at our local civic centre of a touring Buddy Holly revival group. They were magnificent, they sounded just like he did, I just couldn't keep my feet still and sang along to all of my favorite's. They also had a guy that did La Bamba, even looked like Richie Valens. Will never forget, music with such an infectious beat and songs that are not just some moron screaming but that you could understand and sing along to.

Yep you could say I am a Buddy Holly fan.

Regards
Trevor

Holly doesn't really fit in with 99% of my more modern musical interests; however, despite being way before my time I've always for some reason been drawn to and enchanted by Buddy's music since I was just a young bloke.
His legacy is amazing, but imagine what he could have left us if he hadn't died so young?
Legend.

Funny thing

51 years ago I had never heard of Buddy Holly. I only knew of him after the report of his death. However I did recognise a couple of his tunes when they were pointed out. The big up coming shaker of the day was Elvis.

As a Dark Curly Haired Kid with thick rimmed glasses, I was the splitting image of Buddy Holly in my teens;););)
I saw the Buddy Holly Show at the Brisbane convention Center about ten years ago, enjoyed it emensley
