was a friendly litte guy. initailly i scared it off but it only flew a few meters away so i squaated down and watched it pick its way thru the leaf litter. then i made a squeaking noise adn it came closer... eventually it was so close i couldnt focus on it so i lowered the camera and just watched... funnly little character :D

Well done again David,
Love your bird images. Seems like you have a talent for it.

Have you ever thought about finding a likely spot, maybe around a water or food source, and setting up a hide?

Regards
Trevor

It's a shame the flash seemed a bit harsh on him.

Nice shot though, very sharp. That lens seems great.

hi trevor, thanks for the compliment :)

there are none im my area that i am aware of that wouldnt be destroyed by local hooligans... maybe a portable hide. but once again i cant think of any water holes im my immediate area i could do this to. i have thought about it tho :)

it was near dark so i had no real choice about the flash :(
never mind :)
it wouldnt be so bad if the stick wasnt going across the middle of his body.
