I was watching some of the Australian Open today and was a little shocked at what I was actually seeing. While I have no outstanding knowledge or real interest in tennis, I was taken back by the outfit worn by Serena Williams that is the exactly same colour as the court background !!

Isn't camouflage totally against the rules and shows just bad sportsmanship? :confuse3:

For me this seems one of the worst example of cheating I've ever seen in sport in Australia or anywhere else for that matter..

Shouldn't have Miss Williams have being disqualified or asked to change today? :scared3:

I think this behaviour is totally shameful.

(See image directly highlighting the problem.)

Hi,

I agree, and I've always thought the same about the grunters and screamers. We are now getting more of these appearing at the bowling crease in cricket also.

Cheers

I'm not sure about it being 'cheating' or 'shameful'...but it would certainly be something the tennis authorities should find a little disturbing.

I find it concerning that players these days can pretty much walk out on court in whatever colour and style of clothing they desire.

It's all about corporate dollars, clothing sponsorships and fashion statements.... and so in a lot of ways tennis is just following along with the rest of the world.

It appears that to be a purist in this modern sporting world is in itself 'unfashionable'. Ahhhh...the irony:lol:

I can make her out, dark skin against the blue background

anyway don't you watch the ball and not the player in tennis

this would probably have been more a pain for the viewers

:doh::whistle::D

We need a good tennis player's comments. I would have thought that, out of the corner of the eye, a player is trying to spot the location of their opponent just before they make their shot? Anything that makes that difficult would be an advantage to the opponent?

i totally agree!!!

i have thought from the very conception of the game that players should be gagged and forced to wear flourescent pink full length body suits!

lol!
